Disable Active Scripting in Internet Explorer
  1. In Internet Explorer select Tools and Internet Options:


  2. Select the Security tab, highlight the Internet Zone and click on Custom Level:


  3. Scroll down to the Scripting section and select Disable for Active Scripting:


  4. Click OK
    Since Microsoft uses active scripting on the Windows update site you will need to add that site to your list of trusted sites.
    1. Under the Security tab in Internet Properties select Trusted sites and click on Sites:
    2. Make sure the following URLs are listed in the Web Sites list box:
      http://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
      https://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
      http://*.windowsupdate.com


  5. Click OK on the Trusted Sites box and the Internet Properties box.
